Workshop to promote geothermal hybrid energy project communication activities (Project EEA 2024/388116)
In May 29, 2024, at the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, Ap9 Hall, 15-18 hours, a workshop was held to promote by the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti the project EEA 2019/107379 financed by EEA and Norway Grants and the Prahova County Council. In the project carried out within the Energy Programme in Romania and whose beneficiary was UPG Ploiesti, a hybrid system for energy efficiency using geothermal energy was implemented in the university campus.
The workshop “Decarbonization and energy efficiency systems using heat pump technology” was organized by Project Management Team in partnership with SPE Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Student Chapter.
In the event was attended representatives of Project Management Team, members of SPE Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Student Chapter, students belonging to the all Faculties of PGU Ploiesti, representatives of the business environment.
The participants had the opportunity to discover the project 2019/107379 recently implemented at Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, which uses a hybrid energy system and energy efficiency based on geothermal energy in several of the campus buildings (Building C and Building E).
First, the project manager, assoc.prof.dr.eng. Gheorghe Brănoiu, presented the stages of the project’s implementation, offered small insides and examples of the management of such an important project for the local academic community. In addition, Professor Gheorghe Brănoiu highlighted trends in the development of modern energy solutions.
The workshop continued with the presentation of Eng. Ioana-Andreea Purghel, who spoke about heat pumps, explaining what they are and how this technology can be used to ensure a sustainable energy future.
